Amelia Fagence

Amelia Fagence is an artist, designer + maker.

She grew up in a home nestled among lush native bush in Tamaki Makaurau, so there is no surprise at her love of wood, which features prominently in her work. Amelia's process is a journey of discovery - she finds fallen trees, uncovers the grain, and brings the timber’s unique qualities to the surface. Each piece of wood has its own story to tell and, created by hand, each of Amelia’s works has its own difference.

She established Amelia Fagence Design - AFD. A studio that would allow her to design and make. She creates sculptural pieces of art and furniture, with the key idea of play and balance driving the forms, usually made from timber.

Prior to establishing AFD, Amelia worked as an Architectural graduate participating in numerous design projects for homes and hospitality projects in NZ and Australia.
