What began with five coffee trees planted on the rolling hills of Pekerau in 1998 grew into a vision unlike anything else in New Zealand. Originally part of a family farm transformed into subtropical gardens, the trees were forgotten until Rob's passion for coffee roasting reignited their potential in 2009. Inspired by years of experimentation, perseverance, and guidance from experienced growers, Rob set out to achieve what had never been done before: grow coffee commercially in New Zealand.
After decades of dedication, the first Pekerau Hills Arabica Laurina coffee was released in 2022. Today, Rob and Marie continue to develop the plantation, exploring innovative growing and processing techniques while refining their craft. Every season brings new lessons, and every cup reflects their commitment to sharing a truly unique New Zealand coffee story.
