Nicola Shuttleworth

Nicola is a Whanganui-a-tara based potter who works from her studio in Island Bay. She has been practicing for twenty years, making functional wares to hold and to use.

She believes in living daily life with handmade objects that enrich experiences with friends and family. She loves making stacks, groups and individual pieces using similar forms with warm, natural coloured glazes.

Nicolas work is influenced by the early New Zealand studio potters and works with a variety of New Zealand stoneware clay, often blending wild clay and making her own glazes.
