Nature is inherently beautiful. Humans have an affinity for it. We tend however to overlook the subtle details in favour of an overall experience – ‘The Beach’, The Bush’, ‘The River’. This series of work is inspired by the texture, line and form of New Zealand native flora. It explores the delicate contours, shading and form of nikau palms. The beauty created by nature is highlighted by casting directly onto nikau fronds and transmuted into translucent porcelain.
